Since 1994, the castle has been owned by the canton of Basel-Land. The castle surroundings with the nature reserve known for its ancient oaks is a popular destination for excursions and invites you to take a stroll. Merian Gardens Brüglingen

Nowhere else does it bloom so much, so beautifully, because at any time of day and year, in any weather, the Merian Gardens lure with lush flowering splendour and an almost unbelievable variety of plants. On 18 hectares of land, valuable ornamental plant collections, beautiful flowerbeds, a historic English Garden and nature conservation areas come together to form a very special botanical garden. The Merian Gardens are open daily and admission is free.
